Before you arrive
Check the meeting point in your confirmation: a small square at 111 Rue de Turenne, with the guide by the statue and a yellow sign. Come 15 minutes early and wear shoes for walking.
The first bite
The tour opens with a croissant made that morning, the fresh sourdough beside it and the story of the family behind the counter. Eat it slowly; there is a lot more coming.
Into the market
From there it is a short walk to the oldest covered market in Paris. Stalls of produce and multicultural food are the classroom for how the French shop and how street food was adapted for Parisian tastes.
Chocolate, then history
A master chocolatier supplies the sweet interlude, then a short historical walk through the old Jewish quarter leads to a warm pastrami sandwich at a family bakery.
Lunch at the bistro
You sit down. Everything at the bistro is made from scratch, and the guide explains how to order and behave at a bistro table, which helps for the rest of your trip.
The long finish
A French-Syrian pastry nest, a flight of cheeses and then natural wine with the owner explaining the fashion for it. Allow time afterwards for a walk; the tour is a full meal.
